Madhu and Neal’s wedding was a true celebration of love, culture, and tradition. Madhu, a Tamilian bride, and Neal, a Punjabi groom, wanted to create their own version of the movie 2 States. Their wedding weekend started off with their henna party followed by sangeet, wedding ceremony, and reception. All of these events took place at the beautiful Whitley Hotel in Atlanta, GA. With almost 300 guests in attendance, this royal Indian wedding was an unforgettable celebration.
Madhu and Neal wanted an Indian wedding that embodied a royal atmosphere. For their Sangeet, we incorporated the colors emerald green and pink to create a majestic setting. To ensure that everyone would have a memorable experience, numerous unique elements were added throughout the event such as a photo-op with a personalized neon sign and a children’s table with coloring books and crayons. The celebration started with a fun Punjabi dance by Neal’s mom and her friends, followed by a dazzling Bharatanatyam performance by Madhu with all of her friends. This was then complimented by both families engaging together with an energetic, choreographed dance set organized by their respective siblings. To cap off this magical night, Neal’s sisters put on a Bollywood-style skit that recounted Madhu and Neal’s incredible love story.
Their Indian wedding ceremony was truly a breathtaking sight. We utilized an astonishing ivory mandap as the focal point which was set against a candle-lit backdrop. The mandap was matched in beauty by red florals that echoed Madhu’s stunning red handloom Kanjeevaram sari with gold zari, her Punjabi bridal chooda, and her matching veil. To add an extra bit of royal flair, Neal donned his teal, ivory, and red sherwani with their monogram embroidered on the back design. His ensemble was stunningly paired with pearl garlands, a red turban with sehra, and an authentic kirpan which symbolized his Sikh faith. We further enhanced the atmosphere by surrounding the ballroom with gold uplighting which created a dramatic and beautiful ambience for the ceremony.
The ceremony in itself was a harmonious blend of Punjabi and Tamil customs which added a unique touch to their special day and created a memorable experience. The floral canopy created by Madhu’s family added a stunning visual element as Madhu walked down the aisle. The outpouring of love and support from their loved ones created an atmosphere of joy and happiness.
From a variety of rich colors to intricate details, the reception created a breathtaking ambiance. The guest tables were draped with deep purple linens and centerpieces of low florals rich in color. Estate tables were bedecked with mauve specialty linens, crystal candelabras, and bright florals in shades of pink, purple, and green. The dance floor displayed the couple’s special monogram, in gold, designed by Neal’s groomsman. The couple decided to pay homage to their college days by naming all of the guest tables after their favorite spots in their college campus and city. At each table, there was a photo frame with a picture and a story that explained why this particular spot held a special place in our couple’s hearts. The most unique moment of their reception was their first dance, which featured eight of their closest family and friends doing a Bridgerton-inspired ballroom dance. Their second song showcased Madhu and Neal’s shared love of both Bollywood and Bhangra. It was a beautiful reminder of how combining traditions can create something special.
Madhu and Neal’s regal Indian wedding was a testament to the power of love and the beauty of cultural fusion. With its rich colors, personalized details, and meaningful traditions, it was a true reflection of who they are as a couple. Madhu and Neal, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your love story. We wish you a lifetime of happiness and love together.
